Join us on June 29 at Domino Plaza starting at 7:00 PM in celebrating another Viernes Culturales/Cultural Friday. Little Havana’s popular art and culture festival is a great event for the whole family. Enjoy music and discover works by local artists and artisans in and around our iconic Domino Plaza on SW 8th Street and SW 15th Avenue, and behold contemporary and historic artworks at our many fine art galleries along Calle Ocho.
This month, as part of celebrating the independence of Colombia, Peru, Venezuela and our USA, we will be featuring the cumbia group Barrio Abajo. Come be a part of the ruedas de Cumbias and enjoy the sweet sounds of the tambores, the millo and the guiro. It’s guaranteed to be an evening of dance and folklore like no other, not to be missed.
Also making it’s debut at Viernes Culturales will be the Molina Fine Arts Gallery (1634 SW 8th Street Miami, Florida 33135). With an outstanding knowledge of his roots, Molina transports his viewers to the magical world of Afro Cuban folklore, depicting the serene and proud beauty of the Cuban country people. Every time we look at one of his paintings we are filled with immense joy and optimism. It comes through the effective brushstrokes, bright colors, and the riveting beauty of his subjects.
